Because of the rod section,
  Safety Feature. It can take more bending stresses avoiding breakage failure
  Because of rod section, weight of fan blade increases, hence results in higher air delivery.
  Generates More Torque due to more weight of blades.
Safety features - Marley HVLS fans are secured with blade toppers above blades and safety ring Z brackets. In addition 4mm heavy duty GI wires to prevent fan swaying due to imbalance caused by crosswind.
